Based on a true story-Dana is born into a life of privilege, thanks to her Haitian-born father, who happens to be a reluctant narcotics dealer. Dana’s mother, a beautiful materialistic southern belle from Louisiana,  is consumed by the good life that her husband's   profession affords her. Despite the similarities between the Haitian and Louisiana  Creole cultures, the marriage unravels and Dana’s father abruptly leaves the family. She finds refuge in her husband’s fiercest rival to maintain her lavish lifestyle. Karma strikes and the family falls on hard times. At the age of 12, Dana becomes the ultimate sacrifice,  and her mother, now a heroin addict, brokers Morethe deal.
